About the Competition
Please note that this competition is only open to students enrolled in the Youth Symphony.
The deadline to apply for the 2026–2027 competition is October 9, 2026.
Students are required to play one movement of a concerto or a substantial concert piece of their choice from memory with accompaniment at the live competition in Rivera Recital Hall on Saturday, October 24, 2026. For the competition, the piece should not exceed 8 minutes, so cuts should be made if needed. All contestants must have their concerto approved by RYO conductor Christopher Memoli before entering the competition.
Two winners will be chosen to perform at RYO's concert at Regis College on February 7, 2027 — one with the Youth Symphony, one with Philharmonia.
