About the Competition
Open to all students who have been registered for the 2026-27 year and are taking at least 12 private lessons per semester at The Rivers School Conservatory. The length of the lesson must be appropriate to the student’s level.
Students will compete in one of two divisions: the Junior Division is for students ages 12 and under on the application deadline. The Senior Division is for students ages 13 and up on the same date. All competitors must be enrolled in their second consecutive semester or greater at RSC. Summers are not counted in this total.
The deadline to apply for the 2026–2027 competition is November 29, 2026.
Students are required to play one movement of a concerto of their choice from memory with accompaniment at the live competition in Rivera Recital Hall on Saturday, December 12, 2026. Depending on timing, judges reserve the right to stop or skip to another selection of your selected movement. All contestants must have their concerto approved by the Rivers Symphony Orchestra conductor Christopher Memoli before entering the competition.
The winner of each division will perform their movement with the Rivers Symphony Orchestra at their concert at Regis College on Saturday, March 6, 2027.
For more information, please contact RSC's Director of Operations, Lindsey Robb, before entering the competition.
